The Fleet Technician program is designed to give completer the necessary skills to succeed in the automotive service industry working with vehicle fleets in public and private organizations. Additionally, strengthening the knowledge of incumbent workers as they progress in their career in automotive service. Through courses focusing on subjects unique to fleet service, completers will be well prepared for employment in organizations that operate fleet vehicles. Subjects covered will include Compressed natural gas fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and medium-duty brake systems
The Fleet Technician certificate will be completed after or concurrently with the general technician certificate with estimated completers of 10 to 20 per year.
There is a need for fleet technicians, a position that has additional training related to alternative fuels and other technologies for servicing vehicles equipped with specialized equipment. Additionally, strengthening the knowledge of incumbent workers as they progress in their career in fleet automotive service. Through courses focusing on subjects unique to fleet vehicles, completers will be well prepared for employment in fleet service through the completion of courses covering compressed natural gas systems, hydraulic systems, and medium-duty brake systems.
The Fleet Technician Certificate requires 17 units of which 17 are required.
