This Certificate of Achievement will prepare the student for a career in the field of graphic design with an emphasis on printing and production technologies. The certificate will focus on graphic design production skills in page layout and design, visual communication for print publications, and prepress and reproduction processes.
GWC expects 10-20 students to complete this certificate annually.
The goals of this Certificate is to produce students who are able to obtain positions working in the graphic design industry with the expectations that the following outcomes will be achieved:
OUTCOME 1:Produce commercial artwork utilizing principles of design and layout
OUTCOME 2:Interpret terminology for effective design and production and discussion of digital art projects.
OUTCOME 3:Utilize software to produce digital art projects.
OUTCOME 4:Use software to correct and prepare digital art for commercial printing
Based on the recommendation from the DART Advisory and in alignment with other regional colleges, the following classes will be included in the program.
