This Certificate program provides training in preparation for immediate employment in business, government and industrial organizations utilizing cloud computing services. It provides skills needed for career entry and/or advancement in such positions as cloud computing specialist, cloud architect and cloud engineer. Students who complete this program should demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:
· Design, select and implement essential cloud computing components to satisfy user needs in a business environment.
· Deploy and administer cloud computing services.
· Communicateeffectively with users to diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues.

The Cloud Computing Architect Certificate is designed to prepare students for an entry-level position supporting organizations using cloud computing services in the field of information technology. Program completers will be able to obtain positions in any organization, including IT service organizations.
Complete the following 26-27 semester units with a “C” or better in each course. Pass/no pass grading is not permitted in a course within a student's major area of study.
Other Graduation Requirements:
· Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better in all units attempted at SBCC.
· Residency Requirements: Candidates for a Certificate of Achievement are also expected to complete at least 20% of the department(major) requirements in residence at SBCC.

Our computer science department suggested not using the term "architect" in the title. He stated that in the software engineering world the title Architect is usually associated with a very senior tech leadership position. A typical architect in industry would have a graduate degree in CS and probably 7 to 10 years of experience.
