The 3D Modeling and Animation Certificate of Achievement introduces students to fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in digital 3D modeling and animation industries, including game design, motion graphics, cinematic production, education, simulation, forensics, and medical technologies. Emphasis is placed on developing creative thinking and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience using industry-standard software and motion capture systems.
Projected to have an average of 30 students completing the program, annually.

The 3D Modeling and Animation Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the 3D Modeling, Animation, Motion Graphics and Visual Effects industries. Students are introduced to a range of industry-standard production skills including prototyping and storyboarding, 2-D and 3-D animation and rigging, 2-D and 3-D character, texture and environment design, video game assets creation and Motion Graphic/Special Effects design.
From commercials to video games and blockbuster Hollywood movies, the 3Dmodeler’s/animator’s creative work can be found everywhere in the industry. Career opportunities include positions such as 2D Animator, 3D Animator, Motion Graphics Designer, Game Play Animator, 3D Character/Environment/Prop Modeler, Concept Artists and others. In addition to preparing students for entry-level positions, students can transfer to baccalaureate degree programs offering 3D modeling and animation degrees.

Requirements for Certificate of Achievement:
a) Complete Major Field courses.
b) Complete at least six units at Ohlone College.
c) Maintain a 2.0 grade point average in Major Field courses.
