This program provides students with the academic training and hands-on experience for entry-level employment in social work and human services or to meet lower-division requirements for a major in Human Development or Social Work, leading to a Bachelor’s of Arts or Bachelor’s in Science at a California State University (CSU).
30 students annually
Program goals include preparing students for work in public and private human services organizations and/or for transfer to a CSU. Students will be able to show competencies in theory and practice in providing human and social services to individuals and communities.

The new AS/CA Social Work and Human Services degree program will consist of a total of 28 units in nine courses total. 22 of the units will be in seven foundation courses including Introduction to Social Work and Human Services (new course), Social Work and Human Services Fields of Service (new course), Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, Case Management, Law and Ethics, and Psychology of Abnormal Behavior. The remaining six units will be chosen from a list of related electives that are shown on the following page.
